All right, just waiting for the time to start again. This will be the last one I do for today, depending on what order you're watching these in, I suppose. Thank you. Sorry, I got sidetracked with the podcast stuff. Has anyone ever asked you how did you know that you were ready? Because if they have, I bet your honest answer was the same as mine. You didn't. I have never once felt ready for the big things, sometimes even the small things in my life. Not once. If you're waiting to feel ready before you make a move, I need to tell you something today that might annoy you a little, but I promise it will help. Welcome back to the Stacey M Show. I'm Stacey and today's episode is a bit of a nudge, the kind I know I needed myself more than once. Ready is one of those words that sounds like a feeling, but I believe it's actually a trap. We treat it like a green light that's supposed to switch on inside us before we're allowed to act. Ready to leave, ready to start again, ready to put myself out there, ready to make the call, whatever. Here's what nobody probably tells you though. That green light doesn't usually come first. It generally comes after. You feel ready because you started, not the other way around. Confidence is built by the doing, not by the waiting. And I think about every genuinely hard thing that I have done, leaving something that wasn't working, starting again from scratch, putting my name on something new and scary, starting treatment for cancer. And in every single case, if I had waited to be ready, I'd still be waiting. There's still things I'm waiting on. to do now because I don't have the courage to do it. But what actually happened is I did the thing terrified and readiness showed up about two steps in once I had proved that I could survive it. So here's the reframe I want you to take from today. Stop asking, am I ready? And start asking, what's the smallest true step I can take today? Ready is a feeling and feelings are unreliable narrators. A small step is a fact. You either took it or you didn't. And facts build momentum in a way that feelings never do. This isn't about being reckless or skipping preparation where it generally matters. Obviously, if there's something practical you need to put in place, go get that in place. But so often what we're calling not ready is actually just be wearing a sensible sounding costume. So today I want you to pick one thing that you've been sitting on just because you're not ready yet, just the one. Then ask yourself, what's the smallest version of that step I could take in the next twenty four hours? Not the whole leap, the smallest true movement. Send the inquiry, make the appointment, say the sentence out loud to one person you trust and just write down that first line. Do that one small thing before you let yourself off the hook today. Not because you'll feel suddenly ready, because you probably won't, but because that's how ready actually gets made. You don't have to feel ready. You just have to start. That's it. That's a whole episode. And honestly, something I think that we all need reminding of. This was a nudge that you needed today. Make sure you remember to follow the show, leave a review and tell me on Instagram what your favorite small step is. Not your favorite, what your small step is because I really love to know how you went with it. Talk soon and take care of yourself as always. Bye.
